The U.S.P.S. was founded in 1965 by Rev. G. Stanley Whitby, having as its main object:

"To encourage the study of psychical phenomena
in all aspects, with a critical and open mind".

It is open to Unitarians and Non-Unitarians.

It carries on its work principally in the following ways:

  1. By publishing a journal, "Psychical Studies".

  2. By holding an Annual Weekend Conference.

  3. By holding other meetings, and especially at the Annual General Meeting of the General Assembly of Unitarian and free Christian Churches, at which a lecture is given on some aspect of psychical studies by someone prominent in the psychical world.
